The short version

Who we are

KeepCourse is made by Predict Ventures, Inc., 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, Delaware 19958, United States. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Privacy questions and requests: privacy@predict.ventures. Anything else: keepcourse@predict.ventures.

Our representative in the EU under Article 27 of the GDPR is Ray Gibson, contactable at privacy@predict.ventures about anything in this policy.

What stays on your device

The app stores everything you enter locally on your phone or in your browser: commits, targets, sleep and wake times, sleep quality, energy, mood, day grades, wins, gratitude, diary and log entries, training sessions, and your settings. This information can relate to your health, so we designed KeepCourse so that it never leaves your device in the current version.

Because it's only on your device:

If your Android phone's own backup is switched on, Android may include KeepCourse's data, including workouts and sleep imported from Health Connect, in the backup it saves to your Google account; that copy is held by Google under your account, not by us, and we can't access it.

When we add accounts and sync between devices, we will ask for your explicit consent first and update this policy before anything is sent to our servers.

Health data from your watch

KeepCourse can read workout and sleep data that your watch or fitness app has saved on your phone, so a run ticks off your movement commit by itself and last night's sleep is ready in your morning standup. This is optional and off until you turn it on.

On Android (Health Connect). If you choose "Connect your watch", KeepCourse asks Health Connect for permission to read:

KeepCourse also asks for permission to read this data in the background, so new workouts arrive about every 30 minutes even when the app is closed. KeepCourse does not read heart rate, steps, weight, nutrition, location or any other Health Connect data, and never writes to Health Connect.

On iPhone (Apple Health, coming soon). iPhone users will be able to install a KeepCourse Shortcut that reads the same two kinds of data (workouts and sleep) from Apple Health and sends them to your KeepCourse account, because KeepCourse doesn't have an iPhone app yet. This needs an account, and you'll see exactly what it sends before turning it on.

What we use it for. Only for features you can see: ticking off a matching movement commit, prefilling the "How was it?" dialog, prefilling sleep times in your standup, and showing your training in Today and Week.

Where it's kept. Data read from Health Connect is stored on your phone only. It is not sent to our servers. If you later turn on account sync, only the summary of each workout (activity type, start time, minutes) and your bed and wake times are copied to our servers in the EU, and only after you agree to it separately. Our anonymous usage statistics may count that an import happened, never what, when or how long.

What we never do with it. We never sell health data, use it for advertising or marketing, share it with data brokers or other third parties, use it to decide on credit, insurance or employment, or use it to train AI models. We don't share it with AI agents you connect to KeepCourse unless you turn on a separate "Share training with agents" switch. Our use of data received from Health Connect follows the Health Connect permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Turning it off. Disconnect any time in KeepCourse (Settings, Connections), or remove KeepCourse's permissions in Health Connect. Imports stop immediately. Workouts already imported stay in KeepCourse until you delete them or delete the app. "Delete imported workouts and sleep" on the same Connections screen removes every imported workout, the training details and diary lines created from them, and imported sleep times. Commits a workout ticked off stay ticked, as part of your plan history, and anything you typed yourself stays.

What we collect

Waitlist. If you join the waitlist on our website, we store your email address, whether you asked for updates, and the device you told us about, so we can tell you when KeepCourse launches. Submissions are stored by Netlify, our website host. You can unsubscribe with one click or email us to be removed.

Anonymous usage statistics (optional). With your permission, the app sends us events such as "standup completed" or "3 commits added" through PostHog, hosted in the EU. These contain counts and feature names only, never your text, sleep, mood or other entries, and are linked to a random identifier, not your name or email. You can turn this off at any time in Settings. Kept for 12 months.

Payments. If you buy KeepCourse Pro on our website, Stripe processes your payment. We receive your email address, country, the plan you chose and its status; we never see your full card details. We use this to provide Pro, send receipts and handle refunds. Stripe also processes this data under its own privacy policy. Kept for as long as you're a customer and then as long as tax law requires.

Emails. If you give us your email (on the waitlist or when buying Pro), we send service emails such as receipts and important changes. We only send tips, updates or offers if you opted in, and every such email has a one-click unsubscribe.

Our website. keepcourse.app is hosted by Netlify, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on the website.

Feedback and the ideas board. If you email us, suggest an idea or vote on keepcourse.app/feedback, we keep your message, the ideas you picked and, if you give it, your email address. Ideas may be shown publicly on the board after review, without your name or email. We use your email only to reply or, if you asked, to tell you when an idea ships. Submissions are stored by Netlify.
