Updated 7 October 2026

Commit. One small thing you promise yourself for the next 24 hours. Three to five a day. Also called a target (Athlete words) or a promise (Calm words).

Standup. The 3-minute morning check-in: review yesterday's commits, log sleep, energy and mood, note your wins, set today's commits.

States. Done, Partial, Pushed, Missed. Pushed commits move to the next day; after the third push KeepCourse suggests making them smaller.

Golden hour. Your routine of three blocks, set by you. Default: Move 20 minutes, Reflect 20 (breathing, then writing), Learn 20. Any hour works.

Recovery. The guided breathing at the start of the Reflect block (5 seconds in, 5 seconds out by default). Called Meditation in the Calm words.

Wins. One to three things that went right, noted each day. Called Gratitude in the Calm words.

On course. A day counts as on course when you've done the standup and kept at least half of that day's commits.

The line. Your week or month drawn as a line against the plan. Drift is the gap where a day wasn't on course.

Aid station. Cover for a missed day, earned every 7 days on course, used automatically. You can hold two. Named after the water stops on a marathon course.

Rest day. A planned day off that pauses your streak instead of breaking it.

Evening close. The 2-minute night ritual: grade the day 1 to 5, what went well, two rotating questions, a note for tomorrow.

Day grade. How the day felt, 1 to 5, set in the evening close (or the next morning if you skipped it).

Targets (weekly). Two or three bigger goals for the week with a count, like "3 runs", ticked off as you go.

Weekly review. The Sunday ritual: the week in numbers, win of the week, what went well and what drained you, next week's targets.

Areas. The eight parts of life commits belong to: Move, Rest, Fuel, Focus, Learn, People, Work, Play.

Blind spot. An area that has had nothing for a while; KeepCourse points it out and suggests one commit.

Connections. Your watch (through your phone's health app) and your AI agents (through the MCP connector or the web app).

Via Claude / via ChatGPT. The label on anything an agent added, so you always know.

Small daily commits. Your life on course.
